Online Consultation: Improving Support for Men Affected by Sexual Harm
We are inviting people to take part in two online consultations to help improve how support services respond to men who have experienced sexual harm.
These consultations are being led by LimeCulture, a UK-based organisation that works to strengthen responses to sexual violence and abuse through survivor-centred practice, research, and quality standards. The findings from both consultations will directly inform the development of the Male Quality Standards, which aim to define what safe, effective, and inclusive support should look like for men.
Consultation for Men with Lived Experience
This consultation is for men who have experienced sexual harm, at any point in their lives. It provides an opportunity to share your views on accessing support, your experiences of the support you received, and what you believe good support for men should look like.
You will not be asked to describe what happened to you. The focus is on services and systems, what helped, what didn’t, and what could be improved. Your voice will help ensure that the Male Quality Standards reflect the real needs and experiences of men. The survey for men who have experienced sexual harm can be found here.
Consultation for Professionals
This consultation is for professionals who support men affected by sexual harm, including those working in specialist services, health, criminal justice, counselling, advocacy, and related fields.
It explores professional perspectives on delivering support to men, including challenges, good practice, gaps in provision, and what is needed to improve access and quality of care. Insights from professionals will help ensure the Male Quality Standards are practical, evidence-informed, and meaningful across different settings.
Both consultations are confidential and voluntary. Together, they bring lived experience and professional expertise into conversation, helping to shape stronger, more responsive support for men affected by sexual harm. The survey for professionals can be found here.
